Final Thoughts

I was one of the first people to write about how this pandemic would level the playing field for the quarterback room.

The advantages James Blackman and Tate Rodemaker had over Chubba Purdy went out the window when spring activities ended.

Of course, James Blackman has a ton of college experience, but like Rodemaker and Purdy, he’s still new to Mike Norvell’s offense.

That experience does count, but if he has any trouble grasping the offense and isn’t head and shoulders above Rodemaker or Purdy things could get interesting.

If that’s the case, I think I’d roll with either freshman as the quarterback. This pandemic has changed everything from how recruiting is being done, strength and conditioning, and very well could alter the future of FSU football if a true freshman is under center in 2020.

The Noles could have success if that happens, but it’ll come down to how well Mike Norvell and Kenny Dillingham coordinate the offense, and how well the defense plays.
