Chief Osceola Stadium at Bobby Bowden Field

One thing many FSU football fans fear in this “cancel” society is people trying to make FSU abandon its relationship with the Seminole Tribe.

It’s a situation that has come up before with the Noles being able to keep the relationship and all of the traditions. However, one has to think this could come up again.

It’s already proven the university and the tribe support one another with the university having the blessing of the tribe.

What better way to continue honoring the tribe then to name the stadium after its leader who fought in wars for his people?

I think this move would further endear the relationship between the university and the Seminole tribe while also proving the use of the name isn’t in any way racist in nature.

I spoke on Twitter as a Native American about my belief that FSU’s portrayal of the Seminole is in no way disrespectful.

This would take Mickey Andrews out of the equation, but I think honoring the leader of the tribe would be worthwhile. In return, a Mickey Andrews statue can be placed at a prominent place on campus.
