Final Thoughts

In the end, it’ll likely be money talking when it comes to renaming the stadium if it comes to pass.

I can’t blame the university if that’s the case as most athletic programs are becoming strapped for cash with declining attendance at games coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic.

A national or local corporate sponsor would be huge in terms of money for the university.

There are all types of possibilities, but at least the FSU football program has some deserving people to be put into the equation when talking about renaming things with the program.

Some fans do not want the stadium renamed and it has nothing to do with their respect for the man Doak Campbell. Heck, a lot FSU fans were not even born when he was FSU President many decades ago. It simply comes down to the history that’s transpired in the “Doak” for them.

However, at the same time, this is the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. The university can create an way to generate money while beginning a new chapter in its history with a new football coach in Mike Norvell.
