Jarrian Jones

The newest transfer addition to the 2020 class is former Mississippi State defensive back Jarrian Jones. He just announced his plans to transfer Monday after most people thought he was going to Ole Miss.

A former four-star recruit from the 2019 class, Jones played as a freshman at Mississippi State and brings good size to the secondary at 6’1″ and 185 pounds.

Jones will need to appeal to the NCAA to be eligible in 2020, but he could still have an impact if he’s not granted the waiver.

Though, he could get the waiver due to what happened with Mississippi State’s head coach Mike Leach.

Outside of what he brings to the table talent-wise, Jones has three years of eligibility left which means he has a large amount of time to help this secondary become elite again.

He also brings versatility with the ability to play either safety or cornerback. He’d be valuable on special teams too. Mike Norvell is looking to bring a competitive edge back to FSU football.

I can’t think of anything better than bringing in a talented individual from outside the program to challenge players that might have become complacent the past couple of years.
