FSU football coach Mike Norvell had to address his team after some apparent miscommunication. Players reacted to how things stand after the meeting.
FSU football head coach Mike Norvell stated how he and the staff were handling all the different events that have taken place over the past week or so.
He spoke with former FSU beat writer Tashan Reed and provided some context on how things were handled.
FSU senior defensive tackle and team captain Marvin Wilson took issue with the statement and made his own statement on social media late Wednesday night, which caused a huge reaction.
That statement resulted in a team meeting being called Thursday morning. Initially, there were reports the team would boycott the meeting, but the meeting took place with Marvin Wilson encouraging his teammates to attend.
Here are the statements:
Man this 💩 did not happen mane. We got a generated text that was sent to everybody. There was no one on one talk between us and coach. This is a lie and me and my teammates as a whole are outraged and we will not be working out until further notice 💯 #hunchoout https://t.co/6Uuy6K7Eu3

Thoughts
This is a situation that could have been avoided easily, and hopefully, everyone involved can learn from it. It’s hard to get all of the contexts because we don’t know exactly what or how he was asked with the answer he provided.
However, Norvell could have spoken more clearly on exactly what had been done, and not spoken in general as it seems he did.
I think Marvin Wilson could have chosen to go directly to Mike Norvell first before given his thoughts on social media. However, I have to give Wilson credit for being a leader and encouraging his teammates to attend the meeting that his tweet caused too.
He easily could have encouraged them not to go and further divided the team and program. Wilson or Norvell haven’t issued a statement directly regarding the meeting, and I don’t think they should.
It should have been an in-house situation, to begin with. Here’s to hoping Norvell clarified anything that was misunderstood, and it was communicated how things should be handled moving forward.
Overall, it looks as though the team is read to work and move forward from these snapshot of tweets.
