FSU football: Noles make top 10 for JUCO DB Khyree Jackson
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football continues to beat the recruiting trails for JUCO players. They made the top 10 for JUCO cornerback Khyree Jackson.
FSU football coaches are looking to add the best players possible to get the program back to where it’s supposed to be.
It’ll take top talent out of high school and players from the JUCO ranks and transfer portal for that to happen.
The positive in taking players with college experience is it lessens the learning curve somewhat that comes with having to play true freshmen.
One of the areas where the Noles will need some help after 2020 is in the secondary, and they’ve offered a few JUCO players to help fill those holes.
Khyree Jackson listed FSU in his top 10 Sunday night:
Jackson is originally from Maryland but currently attends East Mississippi Community College and would be part of the 2021 recruiting class.
He doesn’t have a composite ranking at this time, but his offer list tells you all you need to know.
He has 19 offers from the likes of FSU, Maryland, Louisville, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Oregon, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Arizona, and others.
He checks in at 6’3″ and nearly 200 pounds and could enroll in January 2021 if everything falls right.
Thoughts
Jackson is listed at cornerback which means he has crazy length at his size to help deal with bigger receivers. I wouldn’t rule him out at safety either, depending on who FSU football has on the roster in 2021.
They will be losing Hamsah Nasirildeen after the 2020 season, and he’s comparable in size to Jackson. There are no 247 Crystal Ball predictions for Jackson at this time. However, things will likely move quickly if he plans to be a January enrollee.
He’ll be a player to keep tabs on where he visits when campus visits resume after the coronavirus is under control.
