Final Thoughts

Cam Akers is expected to be drafted in the second round and is considered one of the most underrated players in the draft.

It would be a bit ironic for him to get selected there since Dalvin Cook slid to the second round even though he was a first-round talent.

Akers is a first-round talent, however, what people saw every Saturday with him running for his life, make it hard for teams to take that big of a gamble on a running back.

However, most NFL general managers make selections on potential, and Akers has loads of it. He’s proven he’s incredibly durable, explosive, has good hands and the ability to be an every-down back.

He has great character and never got into any trouble off the field at FSU, and never threw his FSU teammates under the bus although he didn’t get the best protection.

As long as he’s able to stay away from injuries, I see no reason why he won’t have a better NFL career compared to what he had at FSU.
