FSU football coaches are big on accountability but have also been big on giving lots of praise for jobs well done. Adam Fuller uses social media.

FSU football has two spring practices under their belt, and things seem to be progressing in a positive direction.

Coach Norvell spoke with the media after Tuesday’s practice and said they installed more things in all three phases.

This time of year, the defense is usually ahead of the offense, and that seems to be the case. After all, the FSU defense is running a scheme they are somewhat familiar with, unlike the offense.

One of the biggest takeaways so far has been how players and coaches are being held accountable. One thing I’ve noticed recently is how FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller has used social media to highlight players making plays at practice.

This tweet was referencing an interception by Cyrus Fagan in the first spring practice.

This tweet is referencing a tackle/forced fumbled that resulted in a turnover by Jamarcus Chatham.

Thoughts

I thought this was a nice gesture by Adam Fuller to highlight guys out there making plays. It gives them some sort of incentive while highlighting success on defense.

Context is given too, letting us know if the play happened during 7 on 7 or team practice. One could be concerned there were four fumbles lost by the offense during Tuesday’s practice.

However, as I mentioned, it’s common for defenses to be ahead of offenses, not to mention we don’t know if it was starters vs starters or starters vs. backups or what.

I’d like to see FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham do something like this for offensive players if they score a touchdown or do something like have 3 explosive plays, etc.

I think the FSU defense will be the strength of the team in 2020. They return a ton of starters with multiple blue-chip players at every level.
