Recruiting

Most times having an elite quarterback committed to a program helps draw other talented players to the class.

It also helps if that player is vocal on social media and an active recruiter. Altmyer has close to 3,000 followers on Twitter.

Altmyer hails from Mississippi, so getting him from there could open up some doors for a few skill players he’s familiar with from the state.

The overwhelming response from Altmyer’s commitment was he’s much better than his three-star rating. The film shows it too as he can make all the throws and has some underrated athletic ability.

Altmyer wasn’t slated to decide until a couple of months from now but the fact he committed after just one visit is something he can sell to top recruits.

He committed early in the process and will have an entire year to try to build an elite class around him
