FSU football landed a huge piece to its 2021 recruiting class Monday morning when three-star QB Luke Altmyer chose the Noles.

FSU football coach Mike Norvell have wasted no time in landing their quarterback for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

Three-star QB Luke Altmyer visited the weekend of January 25th for FSU’s junior day and came away impressed.

Less than two weeks later he announced he’s committed to the Noles and should be a huge part of putting the 2021 recruiting class together.

Altmyer is considered the No. 397 player nationally, No. 19 ranked pro-style QB and No. 6 player in the state of Mississippi.

He held offers from LSU, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Missouri, Louisville, NC State, Oregon, and Mississippi State among others.

Thoughts

Altmyer’s ranking doesn’t do him justice but it’s still early for 2021 recruiting rankings. He’s definitely a four-star caliber/Elite 11 type quarterback and will be shooting up the rankings boards as the rankings get caught up.

This is a huge deal with Mike Norvell and staff as it shows they can go out and get the guy they want, and close the deal pretty quickly.

Of course, Altmyer has to sign, but it will be the second consecutive recruiting cycle Mike Norvell has landed a quarterback which had become a running joke with the old staff. Altmyer will likely be an important piece in putting the 2021 recruiting class together as top players always want to play with good quarterbacks.

Another domino could be 2021 four-star legacy linebacker Branden Jennings announcing his commitment Friday.

If he picks the Noles that would be two massive recruiting wins for Mike Norvell and staff in the span of five days. It would appear they’ve answered the question of can they recruit at the FSU level. At that point, it would just come down to answering the question of if they can win at this level.
