Perception

The last two head coaches at FSU seemed to allow a narrative to develop about getting quality offensive linemen.

It’s pretty bad when opposing teams make a highlight video of your quarterback getting destroyed over and over.

However, the former staff did flip Maurice Smith from Boston College late in the last recruiting cycle.

For whatever reason, flipping Scott from an SEC school seems to carry more weight among casual football fans.

Robert Scott flipping from Ole Miss helps the perception this new staff is working to address this position of need. At least it appears he was wanted badly as he was being pursued by in-state school Arkansas with who he visited over the weekend

This sets FSU up nicely for the future with Scott, Thomas Shrader and Lloyd Willis at the offensive tackle positions. Devontay Taylor was brought in as a graduate transfer from FIU which will help immediately in 2020.

It would be great if they could get one more graduate transfer or another high school offensive tackle moving forward.
