Should Have Won By 30 points

The Noles left a lot of points on the field in the game. The FSU defense did a marvelous job of clamping down on NC State’s offense.

They stopped the run effectively and NC State’s quarterbacks were pretty terrible. I see why Bailey Hockman was never going to see the field while at FSU.

The ‘Noles secondary should have had at least three or four interceptions which would have given the FSU offense more possessions to score.

Ricky Aguayo missed another field goal that less than 50 yards and was subsequently benched afterwards.

The biggest thing was FSU’s offense got the ball with good field position a number of times and didn’t score at all.

Keyshawn Helton started the third quarter off with a monster 58 yard kickoff return that wasted. FSU started with the ball on the NC State 40 yard line and wound up punting from the NC State 42 yard line.

You’d think they would be able to go 40 yards and score a touchdown. That’s a 10 point swing counting the missed field goal, but I should point out NC State missed one too.

However, the number of missed opportunities for FSU to intercept passes would have been game changers if they were able to just get half of them.

I’m talking at least three passes that hit defensive backs right in the hands! FSU’s receivers had at least 2-3 drops in the game too.
