Running Game

The FSU offense was fairly one-dimensional in 2018 as the running game was virtually non-existent.

However, there’s been a noticeable uptick in the FSU run game through two games this season.

The Noles ran the ball with decent success against Boise State before an injury to the offensive line changed things.

Cam Akers looked the best he’s been in a while in his last outing against Louisiana-Monroe. I know, its a middle of the pack Sun Belt team, but it was the first time in a while FSU could impose it’s will in the run game against anyone.

MUST READ: What Has Happened On FSU Offensive Drives?

James Blackman has played better than a lot of people want to give him credit for, but has thrown a couple of interceptions already in two games.

The Virginia secondary is very opportunistic with 17 interceptions last season. They already have three through two games in 2019.

They are not a team you want to be third and long against often, so being able to run the ball is going to be imperative Saturday night.
