Perception

The perception of the FSU football program and Willie Taggart as a whole are fairly negative right now. Some of it can be blamed on Taggart but the majority of the blame goes on the previous regime.

They looked downright awful and unorganized last season while getting blown out in six of their seven losses.

Heck, they went life and death with Samford in the second game of the season. There were legit questions on if they would win any games the rest of the season after losing to Syracuse.

The national media still has all of this fresh in their minds. FSU didn’t receive one single vote in the AP Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll even though they are more talented than many teams who received votes.

In fact, three of four analysts on the ACC Network picked Boise State to beat FSU football this week.

A win over a team like Boise State could begin to change the perception of the program. It would change a lot of folks minds about the rest of the teams on the schedule too.

Those games folk have as coin flips the Noles could win? They likely be much more confident in picking FSU to win those games after an opening game win.

Guess what improving that national perception helps?
