FSU football: Top 10 impact players for Noles in 2019
By Kelvin Hunt
Junior defensive tackle Marvin Wilson was honorable mention on this list last season. He missed most of training camp with a leg injury so I wasn’t sure what he’d be able to contribute.
Well, he answered that question with becoming FSU’s best defensive tackle in 2018. He’ll be the key to the defensive front in 2019 as one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in the conference.
He finished last season with 42 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four QB hurries and 3.5 sacks with two passes defended.
There was a scare early in fall camp when Wilson went down with another leg injury, but it appears he’ll be ready for the Boise State game.
Not having Wilson on the defensive line would change this defense drastically. He’s likely an early round NFL Draft pick after this season, so having that type of player in the trenches is always a game changer.
I expect Wilson to have his most productive season yet. He looks to be in great shape and the experience he’s gotten the past two seasons should pay dividends in 2019.
