FSU football: Top 10 impact players for Noles in 2019
By Kelvin Hunt
James Blackman finally earns the starting QB job at FSU. It’s been a crazy road for the redshirt sophomore who had to watch an offense he likely could have helped in 2018.
Blackman gave the offense its most impressive performance last season in his lone start against NC State.
We saw a true freshman grow up before our eyes in 2017 with Blackman finishing the season being names FSU’s MVP of their bowl game against Southern Mississippi.
Blackman brings that experience, a huge arm and better understanding of the offense than last year’s QB.
That should result in less negative plays, more explosive plays and a much more efficient offense.
I look for Blackman to throw for over 3,000 yards this season(he had 2,200 in 12 games as a true freshman). The biggest thing we need to see from him is getting rid of the ball quicker, hitting his checkdowns and not turning the ball over like a certain QB did all last season.
