FSU football begins fall camp in one day and a lot has transpired since spring. I look at three things we learned this summer.

FSU football exited fall camp with a number of concerns we highlighted at the time. The administration was dragging its feet hiring offensive line coach Randy Clements.

The 2019 recruiting class finished No. 19 and perception wise took some huge hits when a couple of players decided to go elsewhere late in the process.

There were concerns this program may struggle down the stretch recruiting wise based on what had just happened and just how bad the team looked on the field in 2018.

There was absolutely zero QB depth behind James Blackman as he was the only scholarship player at that position at the time.

I had huge concerns about how the Noles planned to address the trenches both offensively and defensively in recruiting.

The culture of the team was still in question and one had to wonder if the team was going to fully buy-in to putting in the necessary work in the offseason to get to where they could be competitive again against good teams.

After all, getting blown out in six of the seven losses did the Noles no favors with the thought things could be turned around quickly.

Nevertheless, we’re here just a few months later and things have changed drastically. Randy Clements was hired and has already made an impact on the offensive line.

FSU now has QB depth with James Blackman entering fall camp as the presumed starter. To be frank, things arguably couldn’t be going better for the Noles considering the state of the program a few months ago.

Let’s look at three things we learned this summer.
