FSU Football: Top 5 Dark Horse Candidates for 2019

Dennis Briggs Jr.
One of the areas on the team that’s of biggest concern is the defensive end position. I’ve mentioned the lack of returning production when talking about Leonard Warner.
One player that could see himself emerging as the season goes on is former four-star defensive end Dennis Briggs Jr.
Briggs has good size and length standing at 6’4″ and near 260 pounds. The Noles will need someone besides Kaindoh and Robinson who can set the edge against the run as well as provide a pass rush.
The former is the No. 1 goal of the defense so his size should be valuable .
Briggs Jr. should be able to do both once he gets his feet wet. He did play in four games near the end of last season against Northern Illinois, Boston College, NC State, and Florida.
I expect the Noles to rotate these defensive ends quite a bit because of lack of depth so there’s no reason Briggs can’t see the field and be productive.
