Quarterback

Some FSU fans want to knock James Blackman for his performance as a true freshman, but the kid has shown me enough to be a believer.

It’s no secret I thought he should have been the starter over Francois last season and definitely should have played more after the Syracuse game.

For those afraid he can’t survive a season behind the offensive line, all you have to do is watch him play as a true freshman. He did just fine then through 12 games.

However, Blackman has to bring more to the table for the Noles to win in 2019. The QB position left a lot to be desired last season and turned the ball over entirely too much.

I’ve documented 22 of the 26 turnovers last season resulted into 79 points scored for opposing offenses. Half of those turnovers were interceptions and Blackman has thrown 12 INT’s over the last two seasons compared to 24 touchdowns.

If he can limit the turnovers the Noles will have a great shot at winning a bunch of games in 2019.
