Lamarcus Joyner

Admittedly I’m a Lamarcus Joyner homer as he was one of the most important recruits early in the Jimbo Fisher era.

The thing with Joyner was he could make exciting plays at safety and was a huge contributor on special teams.

Remember the opening second half kickoff return in the 2012 Clemson game? What about the opening second half kickoff return against Notre Dame in the 2011 bowl game?

Both were crucial plays that helped the Noles overcome a second half deficit in big games.

I can name tons of plays where Joyner turned the tide in a game with a huge hit or blitzing off the edge and smoking a quarterback.

He was always in the right place at the right time with none being more crucial than picking up the fumble after the P.J. Williams interception early in the fourth quarter of the BCS Championship game against Auburn.

A player that gave his all in on every single play and one of the greatest to ever wear the garnet and gold.
