Jaiden Lars-Woodbey

It’s only right that Jaiden Lars-Woodbey be at the No. 1 spot since he earned Freshman All-American honors last season.

He played all 12 games with the injured shoulder while being tied fourth on the team with 58 total tackles.

He also had 4.5 TFL, one sack, 7 passes defended and one forced fumbled to earn FSU Freshman of the Year honors as the team’s banquet.

All of that production came with Lars-Woodbey playing a new position. He played the ‘star’ linebacker position although he came to FSU football as a safety because of FSU’s lack of depth at linebacker.

He’s planning to move back to safety for 2019 and is rehabbing the shoulder injury. The crazy thing is Hamsah Nasirildeen led the team with 91 tackles from the safety position in 2018 in just 12 games.

Lars-Woodbey has a nose for the football and came play well against the run. He bulked up to play linebacker last season, so I’m curious to see how he’ll be in coverage when he returns.

If healthy and able to retain his speed, Lars-Woodbey will have an excellent shot at gaining All-American honors again.
