FSU Football: 5 players that benefited most from spring camp
By Kelvin Hunt
Jordan Travis
FSU football has struggled to bring in high school quarterback recruits the past couple of recruiting cycles.
However, they used the transfer portal to their advantage to bring local Tallahassee product Jordan Travis back home after he left Louisville after one season.
Travis brings a nice skillset to the position and added depth should he receive his waiver from the NCAA.
It was a struggle early in camp for Travis who was still trying to get acclimated to his new environment while also trying to learn Kendal Briles’ offense.
I don’t want to put a ton of stock into the spring game because it was a glorified scrimmage for the most part.
However, it did look like Jordan Travis would at least be a competent backup should be thrust into action in 2019.
Travis doesn’t have a cannon for an arm, but he showed the ability to take what the defense gave him and is athletic enough that opposing defenses have to respect his legs.
He needs to work on his deep ball more while continuing to get valuable reps in the offense.
