FSU Football: 5 players that benefited most from spring camp
By Kelvin Hunt
Baveon Johnson
The FSU offensive line has been a disaster since the 2017 season and had struggled a lot a couple of seasons prior to that.
The Noles will go into the 2019 season with some new faces vying for playing time. The player along the offensive line that seemed to benefit the most from spring camp was center Baveon Johnson.
Johnson will look to replace multi-year starter Alec Eberle who exhausted eligibility after last season.
Johnson was thought to be in the running for playing time last season but only appeared in four games. He was coming off an injury filled season in 2017 while lacking confidence snapping the ball.
However, spring camp saw a Baveon Johnson who was emerging as a leader on the offensive line.
He looks improved physically and had no issues snapping the ball this spring. Johnson could be an upgrade over Eberle physically although he lacks the experience Eberle brought to the table.
Nevertheless, a confident Baveon Johnson who’s holding his teammates accountable along the offensive line is just what the doctor ordered.
