Isaiah Bolden

I know this sounds funny because I just said the linebacker position was an area that needed to improve last season.

The safety position was arguably worse than linebacker in 2019. Offensive coordinators routinely isolated FSU safeties (A.J. Westbrook) in coverage and gouged the Noles’ defense throw the air.

It’s largely why the defense allowed 5.24 ypp which is the highest since the historically bad 2009 defense in Bobby Bowden’s last season.

Isaiah Bolden only played in one game last season before shutting it down for the rest of the year with an injury.

He’s a former four-star signee that enrolled early which is why he was on the field so early in the season before getting hurt last year. It’s quite possible he could have taken snaps away from Westbrook last year if he had remained healthy.

I look for Bolden to make an impact in his redshirt freshman season if he’s able to stay healthy with Westbrook having graduated.
