Here’s a preview of FSU basketball and their upcoming games scheduled for play during the 2018-19 season.

It wasn’t all that long ago that the obituary was being written for the FSU basketball team after suffering two losses to bad teams. Fast forward weeks later, and the Seminoles are back in the rankings and back to winning games to the point where they have a streak going that has not been seen in ACC games for the Noles.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that the level of competition this past week will get the Noles ready for March Madness – but seeing the Seminoles go out and do their job like they are supposed to gives fans of FSU basketball a lot more confidence heading into the final stretch of the regular season schedule.

Now, the Seminoles get ready for back to back road games against one foe they have already handled once this season and another team that the Noles would love to knock off to give their tournament resume that final touch.

More from FSU Basketball

Here’s our recap of last week’s game action and a preview of what’s ahead for the Seminoles.

Last Week Recap

Last Wednesday, FSU basketball was back on the hardwood at the Tucker Center when they hosted a Wake Forest team looking up at the rest of the ACC in the standings – but for the first few minutes of the game, the Demon Deacons were hanging around and had a five-point lead at one point.

Of course, the Seminoles woke up at that point and came back to take a seven point lead at the half – a lead that would be as many as 25 in the second half as the Noles cruised to a 88-66 victory. Christ Koumadje led all Seminoles with 20 points while Phil Cofer added 13 on the night.

On Saturday, it was off to the ATL as the Noles took on a struggling Georgia Tech team they beat earlier in the season. For the most part, this game was all Florida State as the Jackets led for just over one minute the entire game as Devin Vassell came off the bench to lead the Noles with 11 points in the 69-47 victory.

Opponent Preview

On Tuesday, FSU basketball will be on the road when they take on a Clemson Tigers team they beat earlier this season at home. At 15-10, the Tigers are on a two game losing streak with each of the losses coming by a point last week against Miami and Louisville.

Saturday, it’s back to the Tar Heel State as the Seminoles will take on a North Carolina team that enters the week with a 20-5 record and wins in eight of their last nine games. UNC will be coming off the biggest game on their schedule when they hit the road Wednesday to take on hated rival Duke.

Interesting Fact

The Tar Heels have been a kryptonite to the Seminoles in recent years as FSU basketball has won just one of their last eight games against UNC in the last eight meetings, a one point win in January 2018 in Tallahassee. This century, the Noles have won just twice in Chapel Hill – a victory in 2000 and their last one coming in 2010.
