FSU football fans received some great news Wednesday with the report of 2018 four-star linebacker Xavier Peters being cleared to enroll at FSU.

Warchant (subscription required) was the first to report the news that Xavier Peters had made the test scores to be able to officially enroll and play at FSU football.

Peters was the last player from the 2018 class everyone was waiting on to see the final outcome. He’s a huge addition to the team at a position of need.

Peters is the No. 174 player overall and No. 12 outside linebacker in the 2018 recruiting class. The former Kentucky commit held offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina and many others.

Peters is expected to contribute as a true freshman and is already physically ready to play college football.

The tweet from Jean is hilarious because rival fans swore up and down Peters wouldn’t qualify and Coach Taggart was only taking him to boost recruiting numbers.

Peters helped the Noles close with the No. 11 class overall in 2018 after being ranked in the 60’s when Coach Taggart was named head coach in December.

The only thing left for Peters to do is pass his physical and he’ll be eligible to join the team for practice.

It couldn’t come at a better time with linebacker Amari Gainer getting injured and will reportedly be out 6-8 weeks.

Peters will likely fill the “Buck” role on the defense and come off the edge, but right now the team needs bodies at linebacker and he’s arguably already the most physical of that group and he hasn’t stepped on the field yet.

This is a big get for the coaching staff and both he and them deserve props for the hard work they put in to help him become a Nole officially.
