FSU recruiting has seen a surge in recent weeks and one four-star linebacker legacy recruit has had a big hand in it.

FSU recruiting was set to take off a couple of months ago. Four-star linebacker legacy recruit Amari Gainer went public with his commitment to the ‘Noles for the 2018 class.

Many thought highly sought after linebacker Teradja Mitchell would follow suit shortly thereafter, creating a huge wave of momentum for FSU.

However, Mitchell chose to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes instead, throwing FSU fans who follow recruiting into a frenzy.

It was so bad we had to remind folk a similar situation happened last recruiting cycle, yet FSU still finished with one of the best recruiting classes in the nation.

FSU recruiting didn’t have a vocal leader for Tribe18, and that’s when Gainer went to work on social media and at camps he participated in.

He’s always reaching out to FSU targets on social media. Heck, he went to UGA while FSU’s top target Justin Fields visited there.

If that isn’t Alpha Dog status I don’t know what is. In fact, nearly half (seven) of the 16 member recruiting class has come aboard since Gainer’s commitment.

Social Media Work

All of those instances are Gainer working on FSU targets like Marquez Ezzard(committed now), Tommy Bush and Antoine Green(committed now).

Also, Asante Samuel(committed), AJ Lytton(committed), Houston Griffith and Patrick Surtain.

Thoughts

Every recruiting class needs that outspoken guy that helps put everything together. Gainer has become that player for FSU. The ‘Noles still have several profile targets left for the 2018 recruiting cycle.

It’s going to be fun watching Amari Gainer continue to put that work in to finish this class. If he works as hard on his craft as he does at putting this class together, FSU’s going to have a heck of a player.
