Monday evening FSU football landed one of the top quarterbacks of 2019 in Sam Howell. Howell is the number one pro style quarterback in the nation according to 247sports.

With the Seminoles not taking a quarterback during the 2018 cycle, it’s pivotal that they take two in 2019 to provide much needed depth. FSU football is heavy on some key guys and in this article, I will go over what chance I think we have of landing them.

Jayden Daniels, (Four-Star Dual Threat QB, San Bernardino, CA)

I think landing Daniels in the same class as Howell is almost impossible. As an FSU football fan, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. It’s hard enough to get a west coast kid to fly and live thousands of miles of away for three to four years. It’s even harder to get him to do that when you already have a blue-chip of the same position committed to your school.

As much as I would like and welcome this addition with open arms, I just can’t see this happening.

Taisun Phommachanh, (Four-Star Dual Threat QB, Avon, CT)

Taisun recently came out and said that the Sam Howell commitment doesn’t affect his decision and if he feels like FSU is the best fit for him, that’s where he will go. While this sounds good, once again I cannot see this happening. It may not impact his decision at the moment but I believe it will.

Teams like Penn State, hours from where he grew up, will start knocking and can use that as leverage against the Seminoles. I think the chances are slightly more likely than Daniels but are certainly not great.

Lance LeGendre (Three-Star Dual Threat QB, New Orleans, LA)

A current Kansas commit, LeGendre while still very raw is an underrated prospect. In his highlight tape he can do it all, even lining up at receiver on some occasions. A key thing about LeGendre is he needs to develop, so having a quarterback already committed to the team of his choice will be less likely to sway him away.

I think there’s a real possibility he can be the second quarterback in FSU football’s class and I really think it could be a steal.

David Baldwin (Three-Star Dual Threat QB, Upland, CA)

Baldwin is enrolled at IMG Academy for this upcoming season, so unlike Daniels he will already get a taste of living in Florida. Baldwin is a big-strong armed scrambler and like LeGendre he is a bit of a project too.

He is another kid who can realistically be the second quarterback in the Seminoles 2019 class, but FSU has some competition as his offer lists contains: Florida, LSU, Missouri, Georgia, and teams close to his home like Arizona and Utah.

It is still early in the recruiting cycle but this is where FSU football stands with these prospects and the chances of them coming to Tallahassee. Anything can change and I will update my opinion on where I think kids stand throughout the process.
