FSU football will have plenty of people on the sidelines Saturday – including the nation’s top recruit who made it clear what he is missing to be there.

In just a few days, Doak Campbell Stadium will be filled with thousands of fans ready to cheer on FSU football during the annual spring game. At the same time, hundreds of former players will be on the sideline supporting their alma mater while several recruits for the 2019 class and beyond will also be in the house visiting the Seminoles.

None of those players are ranked higher than Kayvon Thibodeaux, currently the man child sitting as the No. 1 overall player in the 2019 class according to 247 Sports. The 6’5″, 235 lbs. defensive end is wanted by almost every program in the country – with the Noles being no exception and hoping head coach Willie Taggart can keep his west coast pipeline open.

Thibodeaux will be taking an unofficial visit to FSU football this week in time for the spring game, one week after visiting Alabama and one week before visiting Taggart’s former school, Oregon. On Twitter just days before his visit, the California teenager made sure to let it be known that he made a difficult choice for some in leaving his home state this weekend.

For those who don’t know, Coachella is a huge music festival in Southern California that brings out hundreds of thousands of people and some of the biggest bands in the world when it comes to rock, hip hop, pop and more.

Some of the bands performing this year include headliners Beyonce, Eminem, The Weekend along with other stars like Cardi B, Portugal the Man, Migos and dozens more – so yes, FSU football does have its work cut out in making sure they can match the star power in California.

But you know what? Coachella is a two week event with the same groups showing up – so Thibodeaux can enjoy Tallahassee and cancel his visit with the Ducks next weekend. Besides, FSU football has Rob Base, Vanilla Ice and Salt-N-Pepa performing after the game…it doesn’t get more lit than that!
