FSU football great Peter Warrick continues to love from folk on his number being retired at FSU. Basketball great LeBron James joined the movement.

A lot of casual fans don’t know it but basketball great LeBron James has always been a fan of FSU football even though he grew up in Ohio.

Admittedly, he supports Ohio State too which is understandable, but it’s also a testament to how great FSU was in the 90’s when a kid from Ohio becomes a fan.

One big reason for a lot of that FSU success during that time was due to wide receiver Peter Warrick.

It was announced Friday Peter Warrick would have his No. 9 jersey retired and LeBron James chimed in to give him major props on Twitter.

That’s big time right there! One of the greatest basketball players in the history of the game giving props to arguably the most electrifying college football play in history.

It didn’t stop there as Warrick responded in kind by inviting LeBron James to attend a game in Tallahassee at Doak Campbell.

Thoughts

The reaction to Warrick inviting James to a game at Doak Campbell was crazy!

It would be a good look for FSU football and it was a good look just for him to acknowledge Peter Warrick’s greatness. An athlete that can influence a lot of young teenagers openly talking about FSU or taking the time to visit?

I’ll take that all day.

It may not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I’ll take any edge possible in today’s college football climate where it’s extremely difficult to win national championships.
