FSU Basketball: Our top 5 areas to improve in 2018-19

Overall Defense
It’s funny, FSU basketball was praised for the defense during their NCAA Tournament run but it was often nowhere to be found during the regular season.
In fact, FSU was at or near the bottom of the ACC in several defensive categories. Check it:
- Opponent Field Goal Percentage-.451 (11th)
- Points Allowed Per Game-80.6 (15th)
- Three-Point Percentage Allowed-.404 (15th)
That’s pretty awful and luckily FSU basketball was one of the higher scoring teams in the country, otherwise things would have gotten even uglier.
However, those numbers changed drastically during the NCAA Tournament as FSU used its defense to lock down opposing offenses to score in transition with its superior athletes.
What changed for this team? Did Leonard Hamilton go into his bag of defensive tricks from yesteryear or did they just peak at the right time?
Here’s to hoping that defensive intensity carries over to the 2019 team.
