Linebacker

This position is arguably the spot of most concern for the Noles. They lost both starters with seniors Matthew Thomas and Ro’Derrick Hoskins exhausting eligibility, but return juniors Dontavious Jackson and Emmett Rice.

However, neither have significant starting experience. Josh Brown, Adonis Thomas and Leonard Warner will look to try to crack the starting lineup as well.

Taggart and staff did land four-star legacy linebacker Amari Gainer who was an early enrollee which should help with depth at the position.

True freshman Xavier Peters will not arrive until this summer, but already has the physical size to make an impact.

The Noles will continue to play mostly out of a nickel defense featuring two linebackers. Establishing depth and avoiding injuries will be paramount for this position group.
