Wide Receivers

The Noles have a talented group of receivers but there’s a lot of questions about this group going into the season.

This group will be led by senior Nyqwan Murray with the biggest question for him is can the staff depend on him to give everything he’s got? There have been positive signs the new staff has re-energized him, but he’ll need to play huge along with junior Keith Gavin.

Gavin was thought to have a breakout season in 2017, but injuries, inconsistent quarterback play and lack of confidence seemed to keep him grounded.

Injuries also continued to ravage George Campbell who showed a couple of flashes. Hopefully off-season surgery finally got his core issues corrected.

Then we have sophomore DJ Matthews and redshirt freshman Tamorrion Terry who could be impactful players. Matthews barely played until late last season as a receiver and punt returner.

Terry never saw the field for whatever reason even though it would have been a good season to gain valuable experience.

Then we have true freshmen Warren Thompson, Tre’Shaun Harrison, Jordan Young, D’Marcus Adams and Keyshawn Helton looking to find a spot to make contributions once they get on campus this summer.

As far as tight ends go, it looks like it’s going to be Tre McKitty or bust as Ryan Izzo and Mavin Saunders are no longer with the team.
