FSU Recruiting: Lots of excitement around Taggart’s first Junior Day
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU recruiting for the 2019 class is now in full swing and things look to be off to a great start.
Coach Willie Taggart understands FSU recruiting is like P. Diddy in a sense that it can’t stop and won’t stop.
FSU’s first junior day in the Willie Taggart era took place this weekend and the excitement from the 2018 class is carrying over.
This event is a lot different from how the previous regime did things and there are some pro’s and con’s to it.
However, I like the fact that Willie Taggart is focusing on quality instead of quantity. In fact, it’s an approach Dabo Swinney has turned into a winning formula at Clemson with small but high quality recruiting classes.
FSU fans and recruits were on social media pumping up FSU recruiting.

Willie Taggart was able to get nearly 30 blue chip 2019/2020 prospects to visit FSU this weekend. If you follow FSU recruiting you know to follow the visits, and every time a player comes to campus it increases the schools chances of landing a commitment.
Taggart and staff have shown they have incredible closing ability once they get recruits on campus. There were several players that only visited FSU one time, but signed with Taggart’s first FSU recruiting class in 2018.
The Noles currently have four commits for 2019 and two of them were on campus this weekend in four-star defensive end Mike Morris and three-star defensive tackle Tru Thompson. Both have been FSU commits for near a year.

It’s quite possible the 2019 class could expand after this weekend with a couple of commitments.
