FSU Football: 5 most important games for Willie Taggart in year one
By Kelvin Hunt
Miami
The other huge rivalry game in the state. The ‘Noles will be out for revenge after suffering a devastating home loss against the Canes on the final drive of the game in 2017.
It’ll be a road game, but the good news is the game will take place in Doak South as we like to call it.
A win here will be pivotal in ending any momentum the Canes have in the rivalry, and will prove the 2017 game was a fluke since the ‘Noles had lost their starting QB for the season.

The date for this game hasn’t been set yet, but hopefully it has a “gimme” game before it so the ‘Noles will have time to prep and rest any potential injuries.
A loss would give the Canes back-to-back wins for the first time since 2004 and needs to be avoided at all costs. I can’t fathom having to listen to their illiterate fans another entire off-season.
The former FSU coach went 14-2 in his eight seasons against the in-state rivals, so Willie Taggart will have his work cut out to match that type of success now that Miami and Florida have competent coaches.
