College Football Betting: Chop Chat’s top 5 bets of week 11
By Kelvin Hunt
The college football season is now in full swing, so let’s take a stab at trying to make some money.
We’re back with another addition of Chop Chat’s best college football bets. We had another off week in week 10 and finished in the red again with a record of 1-4.
This now puts our overall record at 20-21-4 after nine weeks. It’s the first time this year we have a losing record, but let’s see if we can’t fix that this week.
Recap
- Virginia Tech -3 vs. Miami-Miami is a fraud team that’s lucky. Miami’s offense can be shut down against good defenses and Bud Foster will have VT ready. VT’s offense should be able to put up points against an undisciplined Miami front seven. Loss, four turnovers isn’t beating anybody.
- Florida +3 vs. Missouri-Florida may rally around the interim coach and has better athletes overall than Missouri. Florida to win straight up probably. Loss, that team may have quit on the season as the got destroyed.
- NC State +8 vs. Clemson-NC State got whipped by Notre Dame last week, but I think NC State matches up better against Clemson here. Plus, NC State playing at 3:30 at home should create a good atmosphere for the home team. Win, was a close game the whole way through as we thought.
- Notre Dame -13.5 (buy hook) vs. Wake Forest-Wake Forest beat a bad Louisville team last week and Notre Dame smoked NC State. Notre Dame should crush Wake Forest in the trenches and shut down their run game. Loss, a TD by Wake Forest with less than a minute left cost us the win here. Notre Dame was up huge almost the entire game.
- Iowa State +3 (buy hook) vs. West Virginia-Iowa State has won four straight which started with a win over Oklahoma and have since beaten Texas Tech and TCU. West Virginia has struggled the last four games going (2-2). Iowa State is playing much better football at the moment. Loss, Iowa State lost by four.

- FSU +17 vs. Clemson-If Deondre Francois were FSU QB….this line wouldn’t be close to what it is here. The total is low at 46…so oddsmakers expect a low scoring game. FSU has to avoid the turnovers…and if so…should be able to cover this.
- Notre Dame -3 vs. Miami-As I said last week…Miami is incredibly lucky and living off turnovers every week. Notre Dame is the better overall team and has beaten better competition.
- Georgia -3 vs. Auburn-Both teams have been playing well, but I like Georgia here as I feel they are the more complete team.
- NC State -3 vs. Boston College-NC State is the better team with the much better quarterback and defense. Boston College is getting too much love for the blowout win over FSU.
- Virginia Tech -3 vs. Georgia Tech-Four turnovers cost the Hokies against Miami last week. The VT defense should be able to handle GT’s triple option and their offense should have a better showing than against Miami.
