The FSU football defense forgot how to defend in the second half apparently.
How is it possible for the FSU defense to hold Miami to 1.9 ypp in the first half and then give up 24 points in the second half to a mediocre Miami offense?
I’m dumbfounded.
The sad part about it is FSU fans already knew what was going to happen when Miami got the ball back with 1:24 left trailing 20-17.
The FSU defense giving up a field goal felt like a forgone conclusion and that feeling came to fruition when Miami covered 60 yards in less than a minute. It got worse as FSU gave up a 23 yard pass for a touchdown to take the L.
However, giving up two third down conversions of third and 10 to Braxton Berrios to allow the final pass to take place? FSU fans were none too happy with the loss.
Twitter Reaction
Why would FSU play press man coverage with no safety help over top with 11 seconds left on the 20 yard line? Wow

Fun game. Tough loss for FSU but proud of the fight. Happy for @MarkRicht who has the Canes headed in the right direction

Thoughts
It’s funny Miami fans were talking smack about FSU being 1-3 on the year. However, they’d have the same exact record if they played FSU’s schedule.
Also, they needed every single second to beat this 1-3 team who’s playing a true freshman at quarterback.
Miami isn’t close to being back, they’ve just beaten some no-name teams and let Charles Kelly gift them a win in the second half of the game with his lack of adjustments.
The ‘Noles were lights out in the first half allowing just 1.9 ypp and held Miami scoreless. However, Miami made adjustments at halftime and scored 24 second half points to come back and beat the ‘Noles.

The sickening thing is Miami had 150 yards on their final two drives that resulted in touchdowns. Both touchdown drives took less than two minutes. We’ll have more in-depth stuff on Charles Kelly in our 1 p.m. post.
