NC State Defense

The strength of this NC State defense is the defensive line that returns a ton of experience with Bradley Chubb, Kentavious Street and others.

Last year they were able to limit Dalvin Cook on the ground, but the FSU o-line did a decent job of pass protection to attack a suspect Wolfpack secondary through the air.

The same battle holds true this season. FSU’s o-line looked improved against a talented Alabama squad in pass protection, but struggled to open running lanes. Two key differences are the Alabama secondary is better than NC State’s and likely has a better defensive line too.

NC State is allowing 2.85 yards per rush, but again it’s largely against Furman and Marshall.

The Wolfpack will look to stop the run and force James Blackman to beat them with his arm while hoping to force him into making mistakes.

However, the NC State secondary leaves a lot to be desired and will be at a disadvantage against the FSU receivers.
