FSU football will have a 1,000 yard receiver in 2017

I know you’re sitting there like, you just said Deondre Francois wasn’t going to throw for 4,000 yards this season right? I did say that, but I do think FSU will have a 1,000 yard receiver this year.

The reason I say that is because of the wide receiver depth and their talent level. The ‘Noles will likely have three main receivers in Auden Tate, Nyqwan Murray and Keith Gavin on the field.

Then there’s Ryan Izzo and Mavin Saunders filling in the tight end slot. The tight ends were not huge factors in the passing game last year or the year before, but I do expect Fisher to use the running backs in the passing game.

However, that still means the bulk of the receptions should go to the three starting receivers. All of them have the ability to attack vertically while beating smaller defensive backs in one-on-one situations.

In fact, Murray and Tate both averaged over 16 yards per reception in 2016. If that average per catch is maintained, they’d need just 63 receptions on the season to eclipse the 1,000 yard mark.
