Deondre Francois will NOT pass for 4,000 yards on the season

Deondre Francois had a great redshirt freshman season, winning ACC Rookie of the Year honors while facing eight top 25 defenses in the country.

Yes, you read that right, he faced a ton of elite defenses and passed for over 3,000 yards, 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also added nearly 500 yards rushing when sack yardage was taken away (as it should be).

The ‘Noles will feature arguably the most talented group of wide receivers in the Jimbo Fisher era, but they are still relatively inexperienced.

READ: Can Deondre Francois Pass for 4,000 yards?

Fisher has shown a tendency to lean slightly more on the running game during his time at FSU. In fact, in seven seasons he’s only had one where he passed more than ran the ball.

Francois will face another set of elite defenses in 2017, in particular, three of the first four games of the season. He averaged 257 yards through 13 games last season.

If FSU were to win the ACC and play in a bowl game, Francois would need to average 286 yards per game to reach the 4,000 mark. That would be a 11.2 percent increase over last season. I’m not sure we can expect that large of a jump.
