FSU basketball found out which ACC opponents they will be playing and where during the upcoming season – and the Noles got dealt a decent hand.
Coming off their first NCAA tournament appearance in half a decade, FSU basketball is working this summer on finishing off the schedule for an upcoming season that some expert think could be a rebuilding year for head coach Leonard Hamilton – while others see the Seminoles making it back to the madness of March for a second straight season.
While the complete schedule will not be released until later, the Noles are getting a better idea of the major games they will be playing – including the 18 conference games against ACC foes that Florida State will face over the upcoming season as the conference released the matchups on Thursday..
With 15 total teams in the conference, FSU basketball will face four teams both home and away while playing five teams at home only and five on the road. While the Seminoles faced three conference teams that made the NCAA tournament for both home-and-away games last season, the conference only schedule two teams that were dancing last year for the Noles in those series;
"Florida StateHome/Road: Miami, Clemson, Louisville, Boston CollegeHome: Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, Pitt, SyracuseRoad: Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame"
There will be a segment of the FSU basketball fan base upset about, theoretically, having just a few big conference games coming to Tallahassee including defending national champs North Carolina, Louisville and Miami. At the same time, only having one game against Duke and Notre Dame (despite both being on the road) is a huge help for a team that lost arguably its three best players from last year.

The conference slate will be just as tough as what the non-conference slate is starting to look like. Over a 19 game stretch from the end of November to the middle of December, the Seminoles have four games scheduled away from Tallahassee that include road games at Rutgers (Nov. 28th), Florida (December 4th) and neutral site games against Tulane (Dec. 10th in Tampa) and Oklahoma State (Dec. 16th in Sunrise).
