Ranking Justification

It was a rough inaugural season for Bronco Mendenhall at Virginia and the first game was foreshadowing for the rest of the season.

The Cavaliers opened up with an embarrassing 37-20 loss against Richmond. They got smoked against Oregon who only managed four wins last season.

Then UConn beat Virginia 13-10. Mendendhall seemed to right the ship with back-to-back wins over Central Michigan and a road win against Duke.

However, the Cavaliers managed to lose the last seven games of the season, getting blasted 52-10 against rival Virginia Tech in the finale.

Mendenhall will look to improve the talent level at UVA while being more competitive in his second season.
