Alabama’s Offense Can Be Shutdown

Alabama averages a ton of points as a team, but that doesn’t necessarily mean their offense is great. According to S&P+ metrics, they have the No. 9 ranked offense in the country.

It’s the No. 2 rushing offense and the No. 25 passing offense. Guess what Clemson is going to do? They are going to load up to stop the run and force freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts to beat them with him arm.

I don’t believe he’s good enough to consistently do that. Did I mention Clemson is the second best defense Alabama will face this season?

The No. 1 defense they faced (LSU) held Alabama to 10 points. They held the Alabama offense to 4.61 yards per play.

Hurts is a big part of the offense with his legs, but if Clemson bottles him up the Alabama offense should be less potent.
