Power Success Rate

  • Power Success Rate: Percentage of runs on third or fourth down, two yards or less to go, that achieved a first down or touchdown.

Now, if there’s anywhere the FSU offensive line has improved over a year ago, this is it. The offensive line has struggled mightily in short yardage situations the past few years.

However, the ‘Noles check in at No. 28 in the nation here, getting the first down or touchdown 75 percent of the time.

Last season the ‘Noles converted third downs just 38.1 percent of the time. They are converting third downs 45.1 percent of the time in 2016.

They’re doing a much better job of getting a surge in short yardage situation. In fact, it paid off in the USF, Miami and Wake Forest games when FSU needed a couple of first downs to run out the clock to end the game.
