Stuff Rate

  • Stuff Rate: Percentage of carries by running backs that are stopped at or before the line of scrimmage.

This still happens entirely too much as the ‘Noles allow this to happen 17.5 percent of the time. That’s good for No. 49 in the nation.

Although, to be fair, some of this can be attributed to the running backs like following their blockers and cutting back when they shouldn’t have.

I remember this happened vividly in the Miami game when Dalvin Cook got stopped on a third down because he cut back instead of following his blocker Freddie Stevenson.

Or, was it Dalvin Cook not expecting his offensive line to hold their blocks and he decided to freestyle?
