Levonta Taylor

True freshman Levonta Taylor arrived in Tallahassee with huge fanfare this summer as the highest ranked recruit in the 2016 FSU recruiting class.

He was the No. 7 overall ranked recruit in the country and the No. 1 ranked cornerback in the country.

I believe Taylor will be able to contribute as a true freshman almost immediately as a punt returner which is an area that FSU needs drastic improvements.

Taylor is electric with the ball in his hands and has shown that he is fearless on returns, similar to those that remember Greg Reid.

It would not surprise me to see Taylor on the field in the secondary at some point this season. If so, it could potentially be at the ‘star’ position that functions as a hybrid role in the FSU defense.

That position takes a while to learn all the intricacies, as it functions as a linebacker and a defensive back at times.

I wouldn’t expect this to happen immediately, but Taylor is talented enough to work his way onto the field.

In fact, former Nole Jalen Ramsey has already signed off on the youngster.
