FSU recruiting landed another blue chip recruit when four-star quarterback Bailey Hockman chose the ‘Noles.

Hockman gave FSU recruiting its eighth commitment for the #TRIBE17 class. Hockman is only the third recruit of that class on the offensive side of the ball.

There was some chatter on social media Sunday questioning Jimbo Fisher taking a quarterback in this recruiting class with FSU recruiting signing a quarterback the last two cycles in Deondre Francois and Malik Henry.

The fact of the matter is Jimbo Fisher usually takes a quarterback each recruiting cycle no matter what. It’s smart on his part for reasons that we’ll go into in a few.

We think a coach that has produced four quarterbacks taken in the first round of the NFL Draft knows what he’s doing when it comes to quarterback quality.

Also, a coach that has consistently recruited top-tier recruiting classes every year as a head coach should speak for itself.
