Thoughts From the Morning After: FSU 42 Louisville 31

True Freshmen Pt. II
At this point in the season Jarred Haggins and Christian Green’s roles have shrunk considerably– that coincides the with rise of Travis Rudolph and Ermon Lane.
On Thursday, Lane and Rudolph both had big games. Lane caught two passes for 58 yards and a score while Rudolph hauled in two for 76 and a TD. The pair are emerging as major weapons. Rudolph has been coming on for a while now — this was his second straight performance with at least 75 yards and a score — while Lane has come on more recently.
Their arrival means big things for the Florida State passing game. Now Winston has Rashad Greene and Nick O’Leary, plus Bobo Wilson, Rudolph and Lane are all beginning to emerge.
Rudolph — who is smooth and natural, much like Greene — has 308 yards and three touchdowns this season. Lane has 165 yards and one score. Though Rudolph seems to be a little further along right now, it may be Lane who has the higher ceiling. Because of the number and the dreadlocks, Lane already draws comparison to the last guy who wore number one, Kelvin Benjamin. But at 6-3, that’s not that far off. Lane is a big, long receiver with good speed. He’s also not afraid to block, he had a key block to help spring Cook on his go-ahead touchdown.
Last night was a nice sneak peek of what the future looks like at FSU.
