FSU football has a talented player in George Campbell who could be a difference maker in 2017. Fans were surprised when the often hurt receiver worked out Tuesday.

The 2017 wide receiver unit could be the most talented wide receiver unit of the Jimbo Fisher era. However, the ‘Noles are shallow at the wide receiver position after signing only three wide receivers the last two recruiting cycles.

Coach Jimbo Fisher said they were in “wait and see” mode with George Campbell last week at ACC Kickoff. However, FSU fans on social media  went crazy when FSU beat writer Wayne McGahee tweeted the following:

Campbell was participating in the “Life for Life” event held during Jimbo Fisher’s football camp going on this week. The event helps raise money for the Kidz1st Fund which was started Fisher and his ex-wife Candi when their youngest son was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia.

George Campbell Seems Confident

Thoughts

Redshirt sophomore George Campbell is a former five-star recruit that’s only had three receptions in his time in Tallahassee. Those came his freshman season in one game and he redshirted last season.

Multiple injuries have plagued him thus far, notably a “core injury” that required surgery in the offseason.

Of course flipping tires and pushing a cart requires a strong core, so that’s why FSU fans were excited about that development.

He has elite speed and size at 6 feet 4 inches and could change the FSU offense dramatically if healthy. A healthy Campbell also adds much-needed depth behind Auden Tate, Keith Gavin and Nyqwan Murray.
