Former FSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston still has lofty goals. In fact, he said he wants to be the greatest of all time.

Jameis Winston isn’t one to mince words. He’s a great interview, full of charisma with the ability to draw you in.

The same charisma he brought to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they made him the No. 1 overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Winston’s leadership has been apparent, increasing from two wins in 2014 to six wins in Winston’s rookie season.

The 2016 season saw Jameis Winston lead the Buccaneers to a nine win season, the most wins for the franchise since 2010.

Winston has a clear love for the game and puts in a lot of time with his craft. He’s a driven individual, so it’s no surprise he said he the following to the NFL Network(transcribed by CBSSports):

"“[I want to] be better than last year,” Winston told NFL Network on Tuesday. “And after that, be better the next year. Ultimately, I want to be the greatest of all time one day. That has to be your goal. People always say, ‘Well that’ll never happen.’ but I don’t know it’ll never happen until I’m done. So I’m going to do anything that I can to be great.”"

Here’s Winston putting in work this off-season:

Thoughts

Jameis Winston is already well ahead of schedule when it comes to stats and winning. He’s the youngest player to pass for 3,000 and 4,000 yards, and the youngest to pass for 40 touchdowns.

Ultimately, NFL quarterbacks are judged largely on how many Super Bowls they win, so Winston has work to do there. Tampa Bay has yet to make the NFL playoffs, but they are playing in a tough NFL South Division.

However, the Buccaneers made it a priority this season to get him more offensive weapons through the draft and free agency, so that offense could be legit in 2017.

If Winston stays healthy, I don’t see why he won’t be able to put himself in the conversation with the great quarterbacks of years past.

He’s won at every level and completely change the culture in Tampa Bay. If anyone can accomplish the goal of being the greatest of all time, Jameis Winston can.
